What is ELITE XC?

The ELITE XC is mainly known as ELITE XTREME COMBAT. It was founded in the US and was based on mixed martial arts (MMA). The partnership of SHOWTIME and PROELITE, INC was announced on December 14, 2006 with an agreement to show on CBS in early 2008. These shows were later canceled.

Not only can you find some of the ELITE XC events on the television, but you can also see them on the road. Many of their locations are in the United States. Some of their other partners were SHOXC, CAGE RAGE, and DREAM. You can find MMA videos on these events at pancrase.org.

Not all of the attention for the ELIXTE XC has been good. On October 4, 2008, fighter Kimbo Slice lost by an early knocks out to a late replacement fighter. This fight drew a lot of attention and scrutiny. It raised some questions on ethics and unknown influences for the company.

ELITE XC has produced seven of the ten most watched mixed martial arts (MMA) matches in U.S. history. Unfortunately, they join the high-profile companies in the industry o close their doors. Two of their major fighters are Slice and Gina Carano. It is not known if they will be picked up or if CBS will start its own MMA Company.

There have been some media outcries and accusations of companies officials trying to manipulate the fights and fighters. However, many people feel MMA will return. There are still fights on major networks in the early stages and are hoped to bring MMA back in 2010. You can also still find reruns on major networks and some of the top line networks such as CBS at Shotime.

On October 28, 2008, one of the parent companies ended operations and closed their doors along with the ELITEXC. However, the company lives on through its fans.
